Highlights of the tour

Yunnan literally means "south of the clouds" in Chinese. While "far away", Yunnan is very beautiful, with many unique landscapes. This trip takes you to the southwest of Yunan, the Xishuangbanna area, which borders Viet Nam, Laos and Burma, and where many ethnic minorities live. Their unique cultures attract thousands of visitors all over the world.

During this trip, you will visit Yi, Dai and other ethnic minority villages, Dai market, the traditional wood and bamboo houses with straw roofs of Jinpuo and Kongge people, taste authentic local foods, and hike in countryside to experience the life in the ethnic villages.

You will visit the stunning Stone Forests, a region of typical Karst formation which covers an area of more than 300 square kilometers. You will try a ferry boat with local people across the Mekong River, the 10th longest river in the world which runs from China to Laos and Viet Nam. You will visit the Red River Valley and explore the magnificent Yuanyang Terrace at Ai Lao Mountain, where the famous Red River winds down from the mountain to Viet Nam, an attraction to photographers as well as visitors (see detailed itinerary).
