Effective Jan. 21, 2008, the regular visa application fee (consulate fee) for US citizens will be increased from current $100 to $130. For non-US citizens, the fee will remain to be $30. The extra consulate fee for express processing remains the same ($20 or $30).

This increase was believed to be in reaction to the recent increase by US on visa application fee (US now charges $131 on each visa application).
